# Venue Kit

> Coming soon: everything you need to ship a venue, as a thin layer over the Somnia CLI and MCP server. Until it ships, build a venue on the Markets SDK.

> [!NOTE]
> **Coming soon.** The Venue Kit isn't built yet. This page describes what's planned. The [Somnia CLI](/build/cli) and [MCP server](/build/mcp) it builds on are live, and `somnia venues` already lists operators, venues and their builder fees. To build a venue now, use the [Markets SDK](/markets/somnia-markets) and test on the Global testnet first.

Everything you need to ship a venue, as a thin layer over the Somnia CLI and MCP server: a front-end template, the venue commands and an agent skill that lets a coding agent do it with you.

## Today: the Markets SDK

What a venue needs already exists onchain, behind the Markets SDK:

- **Register as an operator.** `OperatorAdmin.registerOperator` makes your address an operator in MarketsCore, with a default fee recipient.
- **Create a venue.** `OperatorAdmin.createVenue` registers a venue under your operator, with one market type fixed at creation and its first fee and policy.
- **Set its fee.** On event (binary) markets, each venue has its own fee parameters and fee recipient; a market keeps the fee it was created with. On spot markets, a venue can earn a builder fee on the orders it routes, when they carry its builder attribution, the trader has approved it as a builder, and the pool's fee cap allows it.
- **Choose who creates markets.** A venue's policy, set when it's created, opens market creation to everyone or gates it.
- **Watch it.** Every venue and operator, and what they've traded, is on the [Venues page](https://new.explorer.somnia.network/venues) in Somnia Explorer.

## What's in the kit

### Venue template

An open-source trading front end with order books, charts, positions and wallet connection, ready for your brand.

### Venue commands

Somnia CLI commands that will create the venue, list markets, set fees and attach liquidity, from testnet to mainnet.

### Agent skill

The same steps exposed as MCP tools, so Claude Code, Cursor or any agent can scaffold and configure a venue with you.

## How it will work

1. Install the Somnia CLI and sign in.
2. Scaffold a venue from the Venue Kit template.
3. Register it on testnet, choose its markets and set your fee.
4. Attach shared liquidity and launch on mainnet.

A coding agent will be able to do the same steps through the Somnia MCP server.
