# Validators

> The validators that run each Somnia network: this epoch's committee, their stake and how much of it is delegated, in the Somnia Explorer, and where to stake or delegate SOMI.

Somnia is proof of stake. Validators stake SOMI, take turns in each epoch's committee, and can be slashed for malicious behaviour. SOMI holders who do not run a validator can delegate their stake to one and share its rewards.

## In the explorer

The [Validators page](https://new.explorer.somnia.network/validators) in the Somnia Explorer shows, for the selected chain:

- **This epoch's committee**, read from the chain's committee contract.
- **Every named validator still staked**, with its stake and how much of that is delegated, read from the staking contract.
- **The delegation rate**: the share of rewards on delegated stake that a validator pays to its delegators.

The testnet explorer shows the same for the Global testnet at [explorer.testnet.somnia.network/validators](https://explorer.testnet.somnia.network/validators).

## Staking and delegating

Stake and delegation are managed on the staking site: [staking.somnia.network](https://staking.somnia.network) for mainnet and [staking.testnet.somnia.network](https://staking.testnet.somnia.network) for the testnet. How staking, delegation, rewards and slashing work is in [Token staking and delegation](/concepts/tokenomics/token-staking-and-delegation).

## Running a validator

Validator onboarding is run by the Somnia team. Node security guidance is in [Node infrastructure security](/developer/security/node-infra-security).

Every page is also Markdown: append `.md` to its URL, or ask for `text/markdown`. Found something wrong, missing or confusing in these docs? Tell us: `POST /api/feedback` on this site with JSON `{"message": "…", "context": "what you were doing and what happened", "page": "…"}`, or a plain-text body. `GET /api/feedback` gives the JSON Schema. The team reads every one.
